Edited 2020: Elaine Tuner is no longer in business.
Summer is here and so is the heat, which means flip-flop season is in full swing! I love flip-flops but can't usually wear them for long because they kill my feet. After working for years on my feet in the restaurant industry, my feet are totally wrecked. I also have flat feet, so I have a hard time finding comfy shoes in general. Most flip-flops have too thin a sole and no support, causing my feet to ache even after just a short time wearing them.
A few years ago, I found the most comfy flip-flop from Texas designer, Elaine Turner. I've always loved her handbags and decided to try out her Savanah flip-flops when she launched them a few summers ago. I initially only bought one pair at the end of summer and soon wished I had bought more! I couldn't believe I finally found a comfy flip-flop I could wear for more than a couple hours that didn't make my feet ache.
These flip-flops have a 3/4" wedge heel, jelly footbed and the softest jelly rubber straps. Wearing them is like waking on little cloud pillows. There is a little bit of support built into the sole but not too much and they don't bother my flat feet.
Every season I cross my fingers crossed that Elaine Turner will bring these amazing flip-flops back and so far, I haven't been disappointed. The last couple seasons I picked up pairs in Mediterranean Blue and Turquoise. This season I decided to get one in each of the new colors, Smoke Python and Smoke Pink. Smoke Python is a fun snakeskin print in black, white and gray shades and Smoke pink is bright pink. Both pairs have contrasting white soles.
They run $59.99, which may seem expensive for flip-flops but they are so comfy it was totally worth it for me! Plus, I was able to snag them for 30% off on a recent sale with free shipping on orders over $50, so I got a great deal on them. Sign up for their newsletter to be notified when the next sale runs (I'm guessing maybe there might be a 4th of July sale soon but am not positive). Trust me, you'll want to pick up a pair of these awesome flip-flops before they're gone.
